Note: There are a number of terms in French that do not translate
directly into English and so the French language terms are used as the
familiar form; these are:
"Produits du terroir" refers to produce grown on local farms.
"Méchoui" refers to festive gathering centered around a barbeque of a whole carcass of a young animal (usually lamb or pork) roasted on a spit over charcoal embers.
The agri-food entreprises listed in this website are either
agricultural producers registred with the ministère de l’Agriculture,
des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec or establishments
inspected by the Centre Québécois d’Inspection des Aliments
et de Santé Animale
